China Telecom CDMA Rumors
There hasn’t been an official announcement yet but speculation about China Telecom’s CDMA first-round tender suggests the following:
- Huawei received 30% or the orders, securing contracts for the cities of Guangzhou, Xiamen, Wenzhou, Ningbo, Wuxi, and Foshan
- Alcatel-Lucent secured 20% but failed in Guangdong.
- ZTE received around 15%
- Motorola took 18% winning contracts in Shenzhen, [...]

Nortel Wins Another 40G Deal
Alaska Communications is selected Nortel to provide a 40G optical network that will be part of an undersea fiber-optic cable from Alaska to Oregon. The new network will let ACS deliver services to corporate and residential consumers between Alaska and the lower 48 states.

Oh, Oh: O2 to De-Nortel
According to Unstrung.com, Germany’s 02 is poised to say “Auf Wiedersehen” to Nortel.
The wireless carrier is going to replace all of its Nortel GSM and UMTS base stations with new equipment from Huawei and Nokia Siemens.

Nortel-BSNL: Round II
