All About Nortel Gone But Not Forgotten

If you’re looking for All About Nortel, I’m disappointed to tell you it was hacked recently. All the files, which has been hosted at Hostpapa.com, disappeared.

On one hand, it is sad to see so much work and content evaporate into the ether, eliminating an interesting archive of Nortel’s decline.

Then again, nothing is forever – not even blogs – so, in some respects, I’m not crying over spilled milk. It was a fun ride; I hope you enjoyed it.

For anyone who needs an AAN fix, you can check out the Wayback Machine.

  1. Well… I was checking AAN from times to times to see what was still going on after being myself (and many others) sold-out 1/1/2007.

So this time this is the end of the last small link to a company I enjoyed working in… but started to decline after being led by finance people instead of engineers, who prefered to grow with doubtfull aquisitions (by the end of the 1990′s, most paid 2 to 5 times their right value) instead of taking care of understanding the telecom business, it’s technology constraints (especially for infrastructure business, considering it’s relatively small volumes, that made consumer electronics inspired fab such a world class nightmare in R&D) and use-cases (don’t be so quick to switch for technologies with no foresight use!).
