it is going back and forth between Avaya and SEN. Avaya got pissed as they think they were paying too much.

Avaya is stealing the channels hoping to affect revenues so they can buy it at a cheaper price.

Its great to be #2 in a market as there is an advantage, however the market is dynamic and changing. The “network supplier” business model has peaked and changing to “managed service supplier”. That's the problem with these ideas, they look back to “yesderday's” value and not the future value……….

Spradley said having to make a higher bid to purchase Nortel’s CDMA business will be worth it because it would make Nokia Siemens the #2 wireless network supplier in North America, head of Ericsson.

Nokia Siemens Networks had a grim second quarter, with its sales falling at a faster rate than in previous financial periods, and faster than the overall market.

The vendor still expects the overall market for telecom infrastructure and associated services to decline by about 10 percent (in euros) this year, but its revenues dipped by a whopping 21.3 percent year-on-year during the second quarter to almost €3.2 billion ($4.5 billion). (See table below.)
