Knowing Nortel's simplified approach to business math they'll probably pay each of the 34 companies $1 mio to go away and conclude that they earned, lessee, 50+34= $84 mio on the deal!!!

Which puts them on solid financial footing, of course.

on the surface, Radware have made out if the 50M$ of review from last year is correct and sustainable for another year or two. Keep a reduced staff of “43 employees in Japan, India, Australia, the UK and Germany” should cost them around 4-5Mil in cost, putting the business at and R&D investment of 10%; which is good. integrate the product into their marketing/support/etc org and eat another 5M for a total of 10M, Not a bad deal

So my guess is Nortel took the Alteon sale to gain some kind of credit on the books. Only Nortel would sell a cash cow (about 60+% profit margin) at the time they need cash the most. The CEO has a math degree and has clearly demonstrated he cannot do math. The CFO must be incompetent as well.

What a joke, geez, someone wanted to buy my car for $500.00 so I asked 34 other people to pay more for it… useless all!

    OFF TOPIC (sort of)

Damage Mrs. Flaherty started doing at Juniper. Their campaign has nothing one can call “creative”. I'm amazed how people do not catch this type of stuff.

Yeah, it's déjà-vú all over again.

If still worked at Nortel I would probably have plenty of leisure time to watch her from afar, and, given enough buzzwords, perhaps develop a “Lowrim Flatulety” comic synergizing Juniper's cartoons with Lauren's Skills.

I think ASIA did more business that in Alteon than Nth America. Good deal for Radware in ASIA. Bad for Nortel who will no longer offer end to end solutions in the Switching space.
