Huawei Made $400M Bid for MEN
According to a story in Forbes, Huawei made a $400-million bid for Nortel’s metro Ethernet network business last September but the deal has failed to materialize due to security concerns.
Forbes, which cited a report by Avian Securities, said Huawei is probably interested in Nortel’s fibre-optic business (the 40GB and 100GB technologies), which have 8.5% of the global market.
The Forbes story also features some good insight the telecom and security issues.
