Dion Joannou is Still Alive and Well

A year after Dion Joannou left Nortel is pursue “other personal interests”, he’s slowly but surely getting back into the business world.

His latest endeavor is becoming a director with WrapMail, which provides P2P e-mail marketing software.

According to the WrapMail’s press release, Joannou “was responsible for overseeing 50% of Nortel’s revenues of between $5-$6 billion derived from both the enterprise and carrier markets” while he was president of Nortel North America for two years.

I don´t recall now when Joannou´s severance is going to run out but I doubt he can maintain his waterfront digs in South Florida on this lone directorship for very long. Maybe Owens will offer him a job.

Dion was an exceptional leader and was a highly regarded leader at Nortel.
Many Nortel folks (past and present) have a lot of time for Dion and wish him the best.
So take your opinion and - well I think you can do the math

Dion did nothing.
He drove the nortanic into icebergs and left, like all the greedy execs do.
Exceptional my Ar*e. Exceptional at what. Power Points, false perceptions and telling employees over there how rosy everthing was going to be at Nortel. We can see the actual results today.
Wish him the best? Does he invite you to his cottage so you can socialize over six sigma, toastmasters and favouritism.
You people are all alike. Math isn't my strong point. A** kicking is.
And to boot the name Dion is not very popular today if you know what I mean.
