Nortel’s embrace of being green moved forward with the launch of an “energy efficiency calculator” that apparently shows how much energy customers and potential customers could save if they switched to Nortel data network equipment from Cisco equipment.
Nortel claims third-party tests show that its equipment delivers:
* Up to 7X improved resiliency
* Up to 20X performance
* Up to 50% reduction in Cost of Ownership
* Up to 40% less energy consumption

All this hype Nortel is spinning about energy consumption just shows the desperation of the company, this is truly grabbing at straws and anyone that has a wider view of the major electrical power consumers knows it.
It is sad that Nortel has to use spin like this to differentiate its products from its competitors. No wonder the share price has been driven into the toilet.
