  • Interesting post. I have made a twitter post about this. Others no doubt will like it like I did.

Oh, I'm familair with the model by now: Everywhere are human pyramids, with the tyrannical few at the top (Reps, Masons, Secret Society, etc.) and the noble masses at the bottom. Invert the pyramid and all will be okay, right?
Too bad this hasn't thus far worked anywhere in the history of mankind, because any mass's collective IQ tends to drop proportionately as the masses revert to idolizing any individual who would praise their global enlightenment, while admonish those who don't get with the program.

The worlds two most populous countries, China and India, are shipping Nortel overseas. How is this a sham/scam perpetrated by those five insiders running defunct global institutions?

Let me teach you the path to global enlightenment. China and India (and a bunch of other emerging markets) buy US treasuries in order fund the debt/consumption of products made in all those countries. China pegs its currency instead of allowing to be traded on open market so they can keep their export driven economy going. Everything happens as the globalists, capitalists and communists (call them anything you want) want them to happen. Its just as Mussolini was purported to have said: "Fascism should more properly be called corporatism because it is the merger of state and corporate power."

The masses clamoured around yet another bunch of "leaders" like, uh, Hitler, who led them into a few wars. Commies led the masses on by telling them they knew how to lead ad would give em jobs for life. Cmon....

Mass hysteria contributed greatly to the Great Depression.

Yeah right. It had more to do with government confiscation of gold along with bad monetary and fiscal policies. Mass hysteria caused market volatility but did nothing to contribute to a decade long economic depression.

Why haven't the masses figured out that its all a "scam" and keep investing? Out of greed; certainly not to curb global warming, support universal health care and raise awareness about Nortel's more-energy-efficient-than-Cisco's key fobs.
Mass hysteria contributed greatly to the Great Depression. And pretty much everyone's "worse than Hitler", too, these days.

People are good, but the masses remain stupid.

Mark - why do you and other Canadians even focus on the stock markets anymore ? Haven't you figured out that its all a scam by the powers that be to lure individual investors and their money while the insiders sell out ? It would all be funny if it weren't for the fact that global financial institutions and central banks are losing control of the situation. This is nothing less than the worst banking crisis since the great depression.

Perhaps the block trades made by large institutional investors offers some insight?

Or perhaps short interest statistics changed, which is always based on lagging data:

Or perhaps its return to norm following the Analyst Day ephemeral hocus-pocus. Nortel tends to flow against the norms of the stock market...buy on news, sell on hype/rumor. To juxtapose that permanently mounted sign in the cafeteria, Nortel's slogan should be Free Cash Flow...Tomorrow.

Shaky stocks are the first to be hit in a bear market. Down it goes.

Nortel loves to see it's shares rise and fall quickly...A roller coaster designer could make the most terrifying ride in any theme park from their stock chart! "Step right up ladies and gentlemen, ride the thrilling, chilling Mike Z. It's the only ride with so many ups and downs that when you exit the ride you'll be both breathless and penniless, ay."

A 30% drop in 3 weeks? It's just another day at Nortel. Why we haven't seen prices this low since...oops, April!

I think Nortel is going in the right direction under current management. They have got some 14 clients of 40g and 100g and working on new LTE.
Now let's see what number they show us in the report of Aug 1st. and Q3.
If they are according to the expectation the stock will jump to 15.00.
    Thanks
