More Thoughts on Nortel
By Mark Evans | June 21, 2008
Duncan Stewart, one of Canada’s leading high-tech analysts, writes about Nortel today in his weekly column in the National Post.
Among the issues he talks about is Nortel’s marketing campaign positioning itself as a better choice than Cisco because its equipment consumes less energy. There’s no doubt, it is a meaty issue given more companies are focused on their electrical consumption as energy prices climb.
Stewart suggests that while it’s an interesting strategy, “I wouldn’t buy Nortel based on this tactic at this time - but I am keeping my eye on it”.
