Now That Charges Been Laid….

James Bagnall, who covers Nortel as well as anyone, has a really good analysis story in the Ottawa Citizen looking at what might happen as the RCMP’s charges against Frank Dunn, Doug Beatty and Michael Gollogly rumble their way through the legal system.

Here’s a nice snippet:

“In coming months, perhaps years, legal counsel from both sides will undoubtedly try to reach a deal. But the posture of Dunn and his former colleagues suggests they feel strongly enough about their reputation to take this thing to a trial.

Whether they can afford such a strategy is a separate issue. But if this matter does go before a jury, the sheer complexity of the issues at hand suggests this will not be a slam-dunk criminal prosecution.”

Beh. I can tell their guilty just by lookin at 'em :)

    Did they cook the books?
Did Roth walk away with US$100,000,000.00 of ill gotten gains just as the bottom fell out?
Did they take the fall for the previous administrations actions.
Did the investors and employees get screwed due to their actions?

    Sure looks like it.
