I cleaned out the corporate airplane last night and found Mike's notes for the Q1 results call:

    - we are unhappy with our further losses, but it is just accounting for tax writeoffs, the usual losses on most businesses, costs too high, yada, yada, yada
    - our 6-sigma plan is really working well, generating millions of dollars in savings and fees for our consultants
    - I want to congratulate Joel Hitman Hackney for screwing up the supply chain then screwing up enterprise, well done
    - our employee morale has risen by 3% to a total of 5% for an all time high. Our goal is to have 10% of our staff think that Nortel is worth saving.
    - we are happy with our progress on the 10 year turnaround of a great company, Nortel
    - I am happy to leave Nortel in such a great state and re-join Motorola to do the same number on them

Congratulations on the exceptional, fact based reporting especially with the insider information many need to know. Investors, competitors, regulators, customers and employees will surely lap up all of these information nuggets to ensure the full and honest story about Nortel is heard. Perhaps even Nortel's Legal department will retain these information nuggets to build their response, especially with all of this confidential insider information coming to light.

Mike Z and the Board of Directors will no doubt be amazed at the level of reporting detail available on this blog and ensure that the best ever exclusive interview is granted here to further extend all of this rich factual information.

tongue.in.cheek, I am glad that I could help out in my limited capacity of cleaning up the corporate airplane. The pay is not good, but I drink all the leftover wine and get all the fancy Nortel logo napkins I want.

Thank you for your continued contributions that increases the credibility of this blog being a primary source of factual information about Nortel and their executives. Perhaps you and Mark can collaborate and share your insider findings with the SEC and OSC for further investigation about the facts and truths you have uncovered for the world to see.

If the 1st Quarter ended March 31, why does it take so long to report the earnings? When Nortel was monkeying around with the numbers, they were able to publicize the (phony) profits within 3 weeks. Now that everything is “legit”, it takes an additional 2 weeks? Seems to be that it would have taken longer to fabricate the lies than to tell the truth.

No doubt, there will much good news to excite the executive leadership team, but not enough good news to salvage positions in North America. Expect to hear that more jobs will be sent to the Low Cost Centers and the “High Cost” centers will lose headcount.
