      Nortel Conference Call: Pragmatically Bullish

      Nortel posted third-quarter earnings per share of five cents, compared with analysts’ expectations of 11 cents, on sales of $2.7-billion. (Note: Not sure whether the analyst estimates were before any charges.)

      Q3 Expectations

      So what’s up for Nortel’s third-quarter results, which will be released tomorrow? According to Yahoo Finance, analysts expect it will post earnings per share of 11 cents on revenue of $2.77-billion. This compares with a loss of 20 cents in the same period last year on sales of $2.96-billion.

      So, Google shares cracked through $700 yesterday - giving the company an astounding market capitalization of $220-billion. For anyone still interested in fundamentals, Google is trading at a market cap to revenue ratio of 15.
