Thanks for Coming Out, Steve
By Mark Evans | September 21, 2007
Steve Slattery gets unceremoniously bumped from Nortel after a 20-year career even though the division he headed, enterprise, has been one of the few brights lights this year with 23% year-over-year sales growth in the second-quarter.
So, you’ve got to love this oh-so diplomatic quote from his successor, Joel Hackney, who explained to Network World why the change was made:
“We just finished our strategy session, and we’re pleased with the progress, but we think there’s a lot more we can do. What we’re focused on is accelerating the progress. It’s all about accelerating the momentum that’s in place.”
If Slattery doesn’t feel bad enough about being turfed, Hackney just poured a little more salt on the wound.
