Nortel Wins $10M Judgement

Nothing like winning a court settlement to set the stage for a late-summer weekend. Nortel has won a $10-million judgement against SMC Electronics and Allied Solution Technical Centre, which allegedly re-sold Nortel equipment through a warranty-fraud scheme.
A judgment issued in late August by U.S. District Court for the Western District of Oklahoma ruled the two companies have to pay Nortel $10 million for damages, lawyers’ fees and costs.
