What’s Better? Wi-Max or HSDPA?
By Mark Evans | June 25, 2007
So what’s the better/more viable technology - Wi-Max of HSDPA. Ericsson recently dissed Wi-Max as the Betamax of the telecom world - an assertion that Nortel, of course, vigorously objected to. In any event, Smart Office asks the question about whether Wi-Max is superior to HSDPA in the wake of Austar deciding to use Nortel’s Wi-Max technology for its regional network in Australia.

In all fairness, Nortel posed a reasonable argument from what I have read, if what they claim is true of course =)
However, more pressingly, how much of the WiMax pie will Nortel get if any?
Given Sprint went went others and even merged competition like LU+ALA will come out with their own flavour of their own Wimax, the trend remains not their friend.
Its been long touted the Asians and Intel will dominate WiMax/WiFi.
