By Mark Evans | June 13, 2007
Nortel’s partnership strategy has taken a small step forward with plans to work with IBM to provide small and medium-sized businesses with VoIP and IP communication services such as unified messaging.
“This offering provides Nortel channel partners with a remarkable opportunity to grow with a unified communications solution from two worldwide leaders, and represents our commitment to open platforms and applications with industry-leading partners,” said Lori McLean, Nortel general manager, Nortel-IBM Alliance.
Nortel and IBM signed a joint venture agreement in early-2005 to collaborate on the design and development of new products and services. The companies established a Nortel-IBM joint development centre in North Carolina.
