Jim, I object. I'm a disgruntled former investor and an open-minded future investor. Richard posted a specific list of reasons why he decided to join Nortel. I respect people like Richard who make decisions and express opinions based on data, whether I agree with the data/conclusions or not. I thought the posts, including my own, were overall positive but based on knowledge and/or experience and were not blindly accepting of Richard's reasoning. I dislike posts like yours that make empty suppositions. If you can back up your view, let's here about it.

Methinks you might be a Nortel PR person?

Yoiks! Just what nortel need another MBA. Jeeezze won't these guys ever learn. I have two comments:

1) I think (as with most MBAs) his reasoning is exactly backwards. Anyone think nortel has a get marketing team? Anyone?

and

2) What stellar team is that? Who are these guys except a bunch of GE manufacturing guys who think nortel is a factory? I mean really, how stellar can they be with a guy like J Hackney on it?

It's funny how all these people are posting negative comments -- disgruntled old employees, mehtinks. I think he's making a great move.
And what did Observer mean about money and "shoe in"? I don't understand. The way I read it: he likes the pay and used that when deciding whether to accept, like anyone would when moving into a new job.
Congrats, Richard.

Money was a motive he says, what a shoe in.

Do you really think Nortel has turned around or is doing so as HE says, a shoe in again.

I didn't read past reason 6...
