Another Take on Comments
By Mark Evans | April 30, 2007
Over the past few months, I’ve been wavering back and forth on a comment policy. While I like comments and lively conversations between people with different views, there has also been a nagging issue about allowing comments that go over the line (however one decides to determine “the line”). That said, there is growing concern within the blogosphere about defamation lawsuits. This includes people looking at the content of comments. This has put the spotlight on whether comments need to moderated to ensure that anything seen as defamatory is removed. Given the colorful nature of the comments made on this blog, I’ve decided to moderate all comments. To be honest, I’m not sure about the exact approach but I do intend to be somewhat conservative. What does this mean for people leaving comments? Well, I suggest you offer constructive criticism and shy away from unwarranted personal attacks on senior executives or other people making comments.
