Nortel to Fight Court Decision
By Mark Evans | April 23, 2007
After losing a $28.1-million lawsuit ruling for patent infringement to Australia-based Ipernica Ltd., Nortel said it will fight the decision, according to LocalTechWire.com. “We strongly disagree that their verdict is supported by the facts or the law,” Jay Barta, a Nortel spokesperson, said in an e-mailed statement to Bloomberg. “Accordingly, we will be filing post-trial motions with the court and we will continue to vigorously defend this action”. Cisco, Alcatel-Lucent and Juniper Networks have already reached out-of-court settlements with Ipernica
