      Nortel Wins Mexican Contract

      Time to have a few Coronas within Nortel headquarters amid news that TELMEX, the largest telecom carrier in Mexico, will offer Nortel’s hosted IP telephony and multimedia services to medium large businesses. Chief Marketing Officer Lauren Flaherty told Business News Americas published that Nortel wants to improve its market share in Mexico City to 15 percent for a current share of 8% to 10% share. The Nortel services being sold by TELMEX are based on Nortel’s Communication Server 2000 softswitch that supports a wide range of voice and multimedia business features.
