It looks like Nortel’s partnership with broadband access equipment maker ECI Telecom Ltd. is close to winding down after ECI CEO Rafi Maor said his company is looking for a new partner. Maor said the agreement isn’t working because Nortel hasn’t been able to help ECI strike deals in North America. “We are tallking to other companies with a strong presence, including RBOCs, and we hope to be announcing something this year,” Maor told Light Reading.
What is Nortel worth these days anyways? Are they still ripe for aquisition or are they too large (and too much baggage) to do so?

analyst have $4 to $5 target prices….as for acquisition possibilites, there has been no consolidation among the large telco equipment makers but you never know what could happen.
