Zafirovski’s Alive
Apparently, Nortel CEO Mike Zafirovski will come out of hiding next month by speaking at RBC Capital Markets annual media and technology conference in Whistler, B.C. Given how we’ve heard nothing from Zafirovski since he took the helm in mid-November, there will be plenty of interest in his presentation. Other than firing and hiring senior executives, I’m sure Mike Z. has been spending a lot of his time mulling the following questions: Does Nortel stay in the optical business? Should the company make more acquisitions to beef up the enterprise division? Is doing more business in India really worth it? Do I really need a COO and CTO? Why did my hometown team, the Chicago Bears, lose last Sunday?
