Nortel Hires Another Exec

Mike Z.’s makeover of Nortel’s executive suites took an interesting twist today when the company hired Don McKenna as its vice-president of global manufacturing services. Not surprisingly, McKenna is another GE veteran as Zafirovski taps former colleagues to round out his team. McKenna, a 40-year veteran of GE, will help Nortel transform its supply chain. Assuming Zafirovski doesn’t fire any of his current executives, the next logical hire is a chief technology officer – a position that has been vacant since Gary Kunis quit last May along with COO Gary Daichendt.
